Financial Assistance For Gamers With Cancer

If you are an adult (18 or over) gamer in the United States and have cancer treatment bills, then please read the sections below to start the process.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

  • We solely operate in the video gaming community. We assist gamers and their immediate families who are 18 years old and older.
  • Our application acceptance windows are the following months:
    • Q1: January
    • Q2: April
    • Q3: July
    • Q4: October
  • As of December 2022, we no longer accept paper, faxed or emailed applications. New applications MUST be completed through our Client Intake Form.
  • If you have previously applied through our Client Intake Form, then please do not fill out another copy. See the section below called “CONTINUED ASSISTANCE” for more information.

CLIENT INTAKE FORM:

  • You only need to fill out the Client Intake Form once to be added to our system.
  • All fields and sections in the Client Intake Form are REQUIRED, please fill out the form in its entirety.
  • The Requested Documents we need are:
    • REQUIRED: Last year’s tax return showing household income OR
      • Proof of Government Assistance or Social Security
    • REQUIRED: A doctor’s note explaining your cancer diagnosis.
    • OPTIONAL: Your cancer journey story.
      • When submitting your story, please include as much background as possible about you, your household and how this journey has impacted your lives. Pictures are welcomed! This will provide us a better understanding of your current situation.
  • If you apply outside of the window month, your application will be held to the following window.
  • Do NOT send any bills with this application. We will let you know if you’ve been accepted.
  • If you need assistance with filling out the Client Intake Form, please contact us for support.
  • Contact between our organization and you will only be though the email address supplied.
  • Please blank out any Social Security numbers on the forms you are submitting.
  • Please continue to pay your outstanding cancer debt while waiting for our determination of your application.

 ASSISTANCE AWARD:

  • Please do not reach out to us asking for status updates on your application. We are a very small nonprofit and will ignore any status update requests.
  • If you were selected for an award, we will contact you though the email address supplied.
    • If you were not contacted by the end of the quarter then you were not selected for this quarter. A new application for the following quarter will be sent through the email address supplied.
  • Award amounts are confidential. Do not share this amount publicly.
  • Awards are only for outstanding medical debt due to your cancer diagnosis. We do not reimburse already paid debt, cost of living expenses, transportation or any other non-related expenses.
  • Award amounts are not given to applicants directly. We pay outstanding bills on the applicant’s behalf.
  • Bills must be submitted to us within 30 days of notification of award.
  • Bill payments are based on the amount submitted on the bill. If we negotiate a lower payoff quote we will mark the full amount against your award. This helps us stretch money further to help others.
  • Applicants need to be living at the time of award. 

CONTINUED ASSISTANCE:

  • Every quarter we will email all clients a link to a new application using the email address supplied.
    • You do not need to re-fill out the Client Intake Form to get more assistance.
  • Receiving an application link does not guarantee you financial assistance.
